General Information
What services do you offer?
Telehealth Individual Counseling. Family or Couples Therapy is available upon request, but a further assessment is needed to ensure that telehealth is the appropriate fit. Both will be assessed on a case by case basis.
Do you offer in-person, online, or hybrid therapy sessions?
At this time, services are only online. I use an online and HIPAA compliant video service, Doxy.me
What types of therapy do you specialize in?
My therapy approach is rooted in person-centered care, meaning I prioritize creating a safe, supportive space where you feel truly heard and understood. I believe that healing happens through connection, and my role is to be present with you as you navigate your journey. While I tailor my approach to each client’s needs, I also draw from evidence-based techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Prolonged Exposure, Exposure and Response Prevention, trauma-informed care, and Narrative Therapy. Together, we’ll find what works best for you, always within a framework that honors your unique experiences and strengths.
The Therapy Process
How do I know if therapy is right for me?
I personally believe that everyone could benefit from therapy. But particularly if you find yourself stuck, repeating the same cycles. Having a background in Marriage and Family Therapy but focusing on the Individual gives me a better understanding of some of the cycles we go through in our closest relationships. If you find that you keep on dating the same people, take on the same role in your family dynamics, or are constantly running into the same issues in your friendships, my therapeutic modalities are going to be a perfect fit for you to break through and make a change.
Therapy does require some motivation. Contrary to popular belief, therapy is not just talking and receiving validation. Therapy is hard work that can result in some beautiful changes, but you get out of it what you put into it.
What can I expect during my first session?
Generally, I like to utilize the first session as a "get to know you" experience. I have lots of experience completing intakes for individuals just needing a kind person to talk to and I love being able to be that person. There are policies and paperwork we have to cover in the initial session, but my hope is that each client leaves feeling more hopeful than when they first started the session. Please know that the initial session is also for you to ensure that I am the right fit as your therapist. Feel free to ask my questions about my techniques and ways of facilitating therapy.
How long does therapy typically last?
I would generally say 6+ months as this is the timeline I use for my treatment plan. However, depending on circumstances, diagnosis, and personal need, therapy can last as long as you are still working on your goals.
Are there any populations you don't work with?
Because I only see clients online, anyone under the age of 16 is not going to be a good fit. Additionally, I am not a good fit for individuals primarily wanting to focus on substance use or disordered eating. If these are secondary concerns, I am happy to talk it out with each individual to see if they are a good fit. As a primary concern, however, there may be a need for different treatment modalities than I can provide.

Confidentiality & Privacy
How do you protect my privacy?

I exclusively use services I know are HIPAA compliant or I have signed a Business Associate Agreement (BAA) with to ensure that no protected health information (PHI) will be stored on their servers.
Will my information be shared with anyone?

Are online sessions secure and HIPAA-compliant?
Yes! I use Doxy.me for virtual sessions which I have a Business Associate Agreement with.
